With 23 automotive companies present in the state, primarily in Guadalajara, Jalisco has opened an official team to oversee the sector’s development.
The new cluster will be headed up by Juan José Herrán, and already represents 21 percent of national automotive exports. An official cluster was long-overdue.
Óscar Albin, President of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA) unveiled this as the seventh cluster of its type in Mexico, tagging the country as the sixth auto parts producer worldwide. He forsees Mexico reaching fourth place for 2020, matching Germany in auto part manufacturing.
